A BDI Architecture for High Level Robot Deliberation
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this work we present a BDI agent architecture to provide mobile soccer robots a high level reasoning mechanism. This architecture is build on top of layered system, where each layer is associated with a different level of abstraction in terms of robotic specification. The proposed approach allows the declarative specification of goal driven robot behavior. However in order to cope with the dynamics of mobile robotics the reasoning mechanism allows reactivity when needed. Syntax, semantics and interactions of the proposed architecture mental components are defined and studied.

A Goal Deliberation Strategy for BDI Agent Systems
One aspect of rational behavior is that agents can pursue multiple goals in parallel. Current BDI theory and systems do not provide a theoretical or architectural framework for deciding how goals interact and how an agent can decide which goals to pursue. Instead, they assume for simplicity reasons that agents always pursue consistent goal sets. By omitting this important aspect of rationality,...
متن کاملA Soft COP Model for Goal Deliberation in a BDI Agent
Agent systems, such as those used to control robots, make decisions about their actions and take into account changes in the surrounding environment. The agent’s reasoning includes deliberating about its goals, such as whether to adopt an additional goal, to prioritize or reprioritize its goals, and to suspend some goals. In popular agent systems, such as those based around the BeliefDesire-Int...
متن کاملrobo-CAMAL: A BDI motivational robot
Motivation is a central concept in the development of autonomous agents and robots. This paper describes an architecture that uses a psychological BDI model of reasoning, combined with a distributed multi-level model of motivation. The robot controlling architecture makes use of a generic set of deliberative components plus an environment task-centred set of reactive components that reflect the...
متن کاملEvolution of Agent Architectures
Agent architectures provide the blueprints for the design and development of individual agents. The purpose of agent architecture is to define modes and modules of agent’s interaction in the world as well as connections among internal components of an agent. An agent can be understood in terms of its architectural description of its perceptual, deliberation, and acting capabilities. Architectur...
متن کاملPractical Reasoning in an Argumentation-based Decision BDI Agent: a Case Study for Participatory Management of Protected Areas
This paper describes the implementation of an argumentation system used for participatory management of environmental protected areas, more precisely to model the decision of a park manager artificial agent. This implementation is based on a BDI agent architecture, namely the Jason/AgentSpeak framework/language. After introducing the principles of BDI architecture and of argumentation systems, ...
